Abarat

I read this book last year, so I don't remember all the details. The book is about a young girl who discovers a magical land. She goes through journeys that have mystery and action. The characters presented in the story are well described. The best part about this book are the paintings in it. Barker did this well because it helps the reader compare what they had believed the character would look like compared to how Barker imagined it. The paintings are truly works of art. They definitely show originality, and they make the book unique. I would recommend this book to people who like art and action. I give this book 4/5 stars.
